This is about more than pretty pictures. It’s about seeing yourself with kindness.
Creating space for joy, loving what you see in the frame, and reliving life's precious moments.
BEHIND THE LENS
I'm Jessica Morrisy —a wedding & portrait photographer with over 15 years of experience based in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
She specializes in wedding photography, engagement sessions, family and newborn portraits, boudoir, and personal branding photography. She serves clients throughout the Jersey Shore, Monmouth County, New York City, Newport, Rhode Island, and select destination locations.
For more than 15 years, Jessica has helped hundreds of clients feel relaxed, guided, and genuinely themselves in front of the camera. Many of them have become dear friends. Her work has been featured in The Knot, Business Insider, Shutter Magazine, WellWed New York, The New York Times, and The Asbury Park Press. She has also had the honor of sharing her story in several Inspired Girl books, including She Had No Business, Magnificently Made, and Build From Stardust.
As a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and The Motherhood Anthology, Jessica is committed to continually growing and serving her clients with both heart and experience.
But what matters most to her isn't the features or the accolades. It's the trust her clients place in her to document their lives. Jessica doesn't believe in over-posing, trendy filters, or pressure-packed sales calls. She believes in ease. She believes in timeless. She believes in helping every single person in front of her lens feel comfortable, confident, and beautifully themselves.
OUR APPROACH IS SIMPLY THIS:
My approach is personal, gentle, and thoughtfully guided.
I don’t just show up with a camera — I walk you through the entire experience with clarity and care.
Think: wardrobe tips, location planning, gentle posing, and heirloom-quality products you’ll actually display. No overwhelm. No guessing. Just images you’ll treasure and moments that feel like you.
Because when you feel safe and seen, it shows in every frame.
ONCE UPON A TIME
Fate took a dramatic turn. En route to Paris for a photography workshop, an unforeseen twist of fate – a volcanic eruption in Iceland! There I was, all set for a Parisian adventure in photography, and suddenly, the skies had other plans. But, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining. With an unexpected week off and my Parisian dreams on hold, I seized the moment to leap into full-time photography. It was a bold move, one that's led me down an incredible path of growth and creativity. Fast forward 18 years, and I've never looked back. And yes, Paris did eventually happen, adding a beautiful chapter to my journey. Here's to the unexpected detours that lead to our greatest adventures!"
My passion lies in capturing those irreplaceable moments of love and joy in life. As the poignant lyrics of Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy" remind us, "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." This profound message encapsulates the spirit of my photography – it’s not merely about taking pictures, but about immortalizing those heartfelt, fleeting instances of love and connection.
For the past 18 plus years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing the significant milestones in people’s lives – from the joy of weddings to the delicate innocence of newborns, and the evolving narrative of family life. Witnessing individuals and couples blossom into families is a profound honor, and capturing the growth of their love is what fuels my passion for this art.

Jessica Morrisy is a New Jersey photographer known for making people feel genuinely at ease in front of the camera. Her whole approach is built around one thing: the experience. From the first email to final gallery delivery, every part of the process is designed so you stop thinking about the camera and start being present. The photos are better for it. Every single time.
Almost every client feels that way before their session with Jessica. You are not expected to know how to pose, where to look, or what to do with your hands. Jessica guides you through every movement and expression from beginning to end. Her job is not just to take beautiful photographs. It's to make sure you feel comfortable enough to let them happen naturally.
Most portrait and family sessions last about one hour. Boudoir sessions with Jessica run longer to allow time for outfit changes, styling, and the kind of unhurried pace that makes the experience what it is. Every session length is confirmed in advance so you know exactly what to expect before the day arrives.
After booking, every client receives a personalized style guide with outfit tips and inspiration specific to their session type. In general, soft textures, timeless pieces, and colors that complement your surroundings photograph beautifully. The goal is clothing that feels like you, not clothing that dates the photo. When you are unsure, Jessica helps you work it out before you ever arrive.
No posing experience is needed. Jessica directs every pose, movement, and expression throughout the entire session. The goal is never a stiff or perfectly executed pose. It is a real, felt moment. One you will still recognize as true when you look at it ten years from now.
To book a session with Jessica Morrisy Photography, fill out the contact form and share a little about what you are envisioning. From there, Jessica will reach out to discuss details, select a date, and begin planning your experience together. She makes a point of getting to know her clients before the session starts. It always shows in the photos.
