As an Ocean Grove Beach photographer, I’ve always believed that the perfect photograph captures not just a moment, but an emotion, a slice of life, and even the soul of the subject. During a recent sunrise portrait session in 40 degree weather, we proved once and for all that a little cold weather is no match for a great photography adventure.
The day started early, well before the sun had any intention of peeking over the horizon of Ocean Grove. It was one of those mornings where you could see your breath and feel the crisp chill nipping at your nose. Despite the cold, excitement was in the air – after all, the ocean in the morning has a way of making everything feel more special, especially for a birthday celebration here in Ocean Grove!
Wrapped in layers, with the first light of dawn glazing the sky, we embarked on what was to become a magical journey. There’s something inherently whimsical about New Jersey beach portraits at sunrise. The tranquil sea, the soft pastel sky, and the serene beach created a majestic backdrop for our portrait session. Today wasn’t just any day – it was a celebration, a birthday photoshoot that promised to capture memories to treasure for a lifetime.
The cold was persistent, but so were we. Laughter became our warmth as we ventured into creating portraits that felt as alive as the ocean waves.
